Nepal PM Prachanda set for 4-day visit to India

New Delhi: Nepal’s Prime Minister, Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, is preparing to commence a four-day visit to India, from May 31 to June 3, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said. This tour is the result of an invitation by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and marks Prachanda’s first international bilateral visit since he assumed office in December 2022.

Accompanying him will be a delegation of high-ranking Nepali government officials, including ministers and secretaries.

The visiting PM will meet with various Indian dignitaries, including President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, as a part of the scheduled itinerary. Further, he will participate in in-depth discussions with Prime Minister Modi, focusing on various facets of the India-Nepal bilateral relationship. The visit also affords other Indian officials the chance to engage with the Nepali Prime Minister.

Aside from his official commitments in New Delhi, Prachanda plans to visit Ujjain and Indore, signifying the intent to broaden connections and collaboration beyond the capital. This visit exemplifies the tradition of routine high-level exchanges between India and Nepal and supports India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ policy.

India and Nepal have witnessed significant advancements in their bilateral relations over recent years, with increased collaboration across diverse sectors.
