Wrestler Vinesh Phogat on Monday took on to the dare of Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) chief Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh and said not only Vinesh, but all girls who have given the complaint, are ready to undergo the narco test. This comes a day after BJP MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that he is ready to take the narco test if Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia agree to take the same.
“I would like to tell Brij Bhushan that not only Vinesh, all the girls who have given the complaint, are ready to undergo the Narco test. It should be done live so that the entire country knows about his cruelty to the daughters of the country,” Vinesh Phogat said.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, MP Brij Bhushan dared the wrestlers to take the narco test, polygraph test, or lie detector test with him and said if the wrestlers agree we can call a press conference. “I am ready to undergo a narco test, polygraph test, or lie detector test, but my condition is that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia should also take them with me. If both the wrestlers agree to the same, call a press conference and make an announcement. I promise them that I am ready for the test,” he posted in Hindi.
The BJP MP added even after four months, the protesting wrestlers have no proof against me, and the people of all castes and religions are angry today and are standing with me.
“Even after four months, they do not have any audio, video, or any other recording to prove allegations against me. Story after story is being told. They should know that the whole country is angry today. People of all castes and religions are standing with me,” Singh said.
The development comes as a massive Khap Panchayat was organized on Sunday in support of the wrestlers. The Panchayat also took a decision that all women supporting the wrestlers will hold a women’s Panchayat outside the new Parliament building on its inauguration day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the new Parliament building on 28 May.
