Handset maker Xiaomi on Tuesday launched its flagship Xiaomi 13 Pro in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro’s cameras are backed by Leica optics and it is the company’s rival to flagships such as the OnePlus 11, Galaxy S23 Ultra and Apple iPhone 14 Pro, among others. However, the smartphone will be available on a limited run in India. The Xiaomi 13 Pro models sold in the country will be made in India, the company noted at a briefing in New Delhi.
According to Xiaomi India, the Xiaomi 13 Pro’s manufacturing is difficult and expensive. The smartphone will be available in limited quantities and stocks may not be replenished after the initial run. This is similar to what the company did with the widely popular flagship Mi 11 Ultra, which was roughly made available in India from July to October. The smartphone was very well received in the Indian market, but it had a limited run.
